Today I had a buttercream frosting lesson from the one and only Roni’s Sugar creations. I am so proud of myself for what my outcome was I had to share with you guys. However I can’t take all the credit because without Roni I’d be frosting with the store bought stuff still. (not that anything is wrong with that either) Now I feel like I can take my cupcakes to the next level. Roni has been kind enough to let me share the buttercream recipe with my readers so pin this post because this is a great base for all of your frosting needs. You can add cookie crumbles, cocoa powder, coffee, graham cracker, cream cheese.. The flavors are endless.
If you guys ever get a chance to take one of her classes in your area, DO IT! She’s the best. Thanks Roni, hopefully I made you proud. Now it’s just practice with different tips!
Recipe for the Buttercream frosting:
Tip to getting the frosting to look like this is, Wilton tip 1A. It’s large round tip. Leave a little space on the side of your cupcake and then move around the cupcake and overlap 3x to make the swirl.
It’s kid tested and approved!
A little disclaimer: I’ve never frosted like this before so what you’re seeing is my first time. I’m no professional, but I think I did pretty well and will be frosting my own cupcakes moving forward.
