For this shoot I wanted to do something beautiful for our moms out there. I first designed the printables which included invitations, banners, drink tags, place cards, and signs. Once I had the feel I wanted to go with in the design we built around that. I enlisted some help from Jamie with Sweet Jelly Parties and we collaborated on this together. I wanted a simple, shabby chic feel with a airy park setting. We used the picnic table prop from Jamie. Coloring was blush pink, light blue, gold and ivory with lace and sequins. What’s more stunning than lace and sequins, right?
Starting with dining table, I wanted that shabby chic feel, but a show stopper. We used gold candelabras that I found at Home goods on clearance for a steel! I purchased a sequin blush runner and used some of my mom’s gold and ivory china. How stunning are the chargers? Those are from Koyal Wholesale. We pulled in some simple mason jars and vases, but paired with some amazing florals by Julep Bloom Design and you have a beautiful table scape. Amne with Julep Bloom Design also made the floral crowns for the girls to wear and they were just so sweet.
The drink station was set with French Sparkling Pink Lemonade from Trader Joes. It’s inexpensive and tastes great. (Not to sweet and not too tart.) I love the bottle shape it comes in and thought it would be perfect for this. I also made some flower ice cubes. I’ve always wanted to do this for a party. I purchased some edible flowers from Whole Foods. Yes, they must be edible!!! I put them in my ice cube mold and out came a nice touch to a simple idea. We used the glass milk jars from Michaels for the kids drinks.
The dessert station I wanted to do something different than a table so we used old crates and a vintage suitcase. I just loved the way it turned out, it gave it the rustic picnic feel I was after. The stunning macaroons and sugar cookies were from The French Confection Co. Mallory made some elegant cookies with lace detail. We also used a vintage suitcase and had the Dessert Menu card and mini tarts set up in. The delicious mini tarts and meringues were from the lovely Chiara from II Tocco Kitchen. And then, that cake! I love the naked cake look, and Des from [Desi]gn cakes & cupcakes made this stunning cake. We adorned it with printable cake topper that I made and added some beautiful flowers.
When I think of my mom, I know she loves her tea so I wanted to have a tea set up to choose your own blend. These teas smelled amazing! They’re from Teavana and they have a local shop in my area where they have over 90 teas to choose from. I had found these little kraft boxes at Michales, I made a tag and thought they were perfect for creating your blend. We used a vintage tea cart from Sweet Jelly Parties rental collection.
How stunning are these girls and their mama?!? Kacee and her girls were such pros and I so easy with work with.
Christina with Hello Blue Photography took all the pictures. She’s such a doll and I love working with her. She really knows how and what to capture.
